Gift giving started a week early in Long Island as New Yorkers came out to donate to economically challenged families, veterans, and homeless.
On December 14th and 15th, 2019, the 3rd Annual Holiday Thrift Store collected donations for over 1,500 families and children. Hosted by the New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation (NYSCFKids) and Eva Sayville, this special 2-day event opened its doors to families in need this holiday season, providing musical entertainment, toys, winter clothing, books, blankets, and food to economically challenge communities.
This year’s event included a special guest appearance by The Rock & Roll U Christmas Choir conducted by Jessica Gallone, who provided musical entertainment to local children and families. By special invitation, Mr. Santa Clause and his helpful elves attended the event to share gifts, cheers, and teddy bears with young children.
The New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation is an active charitable foundation that provides support and donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Kid’s Need More, Wounded Warrior Project, the Special Olympics, and more. The event was also attended by teen ambassador, Ms. Olivia Price. Earlier this month, the foundation previously hosted Toys For Autism on December 1, 2019, with the Long Island Blue’s Society.
WRSH’s very own Frank Lombardo currently serves as the vice president of the New York Sportscene Children’s Foundation and previously hosted the “Angela Lombardo Blues Raiser” in 2017 to help support the foundations charitable endeavors.
