Last year, our law firm accepted over 600 applications for our Foundation For Your Future Scholarship. Last year, we offered $500 to the winner. Last year was our first year. We’re ready to take it to the next level.
Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP, will award $2,500 to one deserving student for post-secondary educational expenses in 2019. The contest is open to citizens in every state, as well as permanent residents and DACA recipients. We ask that you respond to this prompt, which is very personal for us:
- Extraordinary people leave an indelible mark on the world – and on the people around them. WRSH’s founder, William Wingate, was one of those men. A World War II Navy veteran, Bill served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, served as Deputy Mayor of the Village of Ocean Beach, and was a leading member in numerous community, religious, and charity organizations, honored and beloved for his contributions. We offer this scholarship on the tenth anniversary of his passing, and ask you to answer a simple question: Who do you look up to, and why?
Last year, our winner told us about her passion for helping children in a hospital setting. Use her essay as inspiration, but tell us your own story. We want to meet your inspiration and learn how they’ve influenced you the way they have. Let’s all celebrate the people who make a difference in this life.
The deadline to apply is July 24, 2019. We’ll be announcing our finalists at the beginning of August and our winner on August 21, 2019, on our blog and our Facebook page. Be sure to check both to see if you have been selected!
