The family of another worker who died after falling 24 stories down an elevator shaft in May just announced that it will sue companies involved at that construction site. Woman Killed in Brooklyn Hit and Run Crash

NYC Hit and RunA 59-year-old woman using a walker was killed in a New York City car accident involving a hit-and-run driver. According to a PIX 11 news report, the fatal pedestrian accident happened at 42nd Street and 9th Avenue in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Officials say she was attempting to cross the road at the intersection when a white minivan struck her and drove away. She was pronounced dead at Lutheran Medical Center. The investigation to find the hit-and-run driver is underway.

Every driver in New York has a legal responsibility to remain at the scene of an accident when someone has been injured or killed. Drivers must alert emergency services, remain at the crash site, exchange information and provide insurance details to all parties involved.

New York Truck Accident Proves Fatal

Rockland County Truck AccidentTwo people were killed in a New York car accident involving a tractor-trailer, two box trucks and another vehicle. According to an AM New York news report, the fatal truck accident happened near exit 14B of Interstate 87 in Suffern. Officials say the truck was attempting to pass slower traffic, lost control and struck a box truck head on. The tractor-trailer tipped over, a box truck burst open littering debris across the highway. Two people were killed and a third suffered minor injuries.

Worker Injured at Manhattan Accident

Construction Site AccidentA construction worker was injured after falling 40 feet to the ground at a Manhattan development site. According to a report in The Real Deal, the construction accident occurred at the Manhattan West development site on the Far West Side. Officials say the man fell off one of the buildings at the project site and was seriously injured. A bucket crane was needed to rescue him. It’s unclear how the accident happened or how it could have been prevented.

Bus Strikes Pedestrian in Manhattan

A 69-year-old woman was killed in a New York City pedestrian accident involving an MTA bus. According to an NBC New York report, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on West 57th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan. Officials say the woman was crossing the road mid-block when the MTA X5 express bus struck her. She suffered severe injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The MTA driver remained at the scene.
