On Sunday, April 3, 2016, Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP held its first Legal Learning Seminar of the year at Bedford-Central Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, NY.

After a warm introduction from Pastor Neil, WRSH attorneys Paul Cordella and Eric Horn spoke to congregants about protecting their rights if they are involved in a personal injury matter. Mr. Cordella and Mr. Horn spoke candidly and enthusiastically about the importance of documenting an incident, whether it is an automobile accident, premises liability, or a work-related injury. They stressed the significance of documenting elements of liability and damages to support a case.

Following their presentation, Stephan Siegel spoke to the crowd about his current work as a Criminal Defense attorney, his previous success, and the key steps to take when faced with a criminal charge. He explained how to treat a police officer if arrested, and the necessity of being respectful. He also emphasized that every individual has the right to legal representation.

Lastly, James Kasakow discussed setting up trusts, writing wills and managing estates. While he explained how necessary it is to plan ahead as the future is uncertain, he simultaneously emphasized this daunting undertaking, and explained how he can help provide services.

The congregants were delighted with each presentation, and stayed afterwards for refreshments and a question and answer session where members of the congregation approached the attorneys with individual legal questions. Every attendee took home a WRSH newsletter, composed of the latest settlements and verdicts as well as contact information for each attorney.
