At a private mediation, Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP attorneys Erin K. Hurley and Carmine J. Goncalves secured a $3.25 million settlement with a full waiver of the client's workers’ compensation lien on behalf of our client, a concrete worker who was injured while carrying a heavy beam. He slipped and fell due to accumulated rainwater on the floor of a construction site, injuring his neck, back, right shoulder, and both knees. Defendants argued that no puddled rainwater existed at that location, and if it did, it had been cleaned up before our client fell. He underwent a one-level cervical discectomy and fusion, a two-level laminectomy and lumbar fusion, arthroscopic repair of a SLAP tear in his right shoulder, and arthroscopic repair of a torn meniscus in his right knee.
