NY Construction Accident
Attorney Michael Zisser recently obtained a settlement of $3,000,000 for a 58-year-old union laborer who was injured when a trench in which he was working partially collapsed. As a result of the accident, the plaintiff ultimately underwent an amputation of the left index finger at the PIP joint as well as a cervical fusion. Michael was also able to win summary judgment pursuant to Labor Law 240(1) by demonstrating through testimony and project documents that the trench lacked proper sheeting and shoring, which directly contributed to its collapse.
