Trip and Fall on Defective Piece of Contractor's Masonite

The plaintiff, an 85 year old accountant tripped and fell on a defective piece of contractor's masonite which was laid on the floor by the building management. The office building was undergoing renovations. The plaintiff fractured his hip and required surgery as well as two months of postoperative care.
