Electrical Subcontractor Sustains Closed Head Injury
Plaintiff was a 36 year old laborer for an electrical subcontractor when he was injured at a work site and sustained a closed head injury. The plaintiff bent down at his work site and was struck by a piece of rebar that was being lifted by one worker from another subcontractor. The CAT Scan and MRI of the plaintiff's brain were normal but he demonstrated cognitive difficulties following the accident. Our firm retained an expert who argued that the work site was overcrowded and the rebar was being moved by one person instead of two persons and these factors were violations of industry standard and clearly created a dangerous work environment for the plaintiff. WRSMH attorney Michael Fitzpatrick settled this case at mediation for $150,000.
