New York Car Accident
WRSMH attorney Cliff Shapiro, obtained a settlement in the amount of $200,000 for a 27-year-old man who was a passenger in a motor vehicle which was struck in the rear by another motor vehicle. After the accident the client made immediate complaints of neck and back pain. The FDNY EMS arrived and Mr. Garcia was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital Center with worsening complaints of lower back pain.
About a month after the accident, he went to a doctor and complained of knee and wrist pain. Seven months thereafter, he wound up having knee surgery. The defendants contended that the knee injury and resulting surgery were not related to the accident. Obviously, we were able to convince the defendants that we could relate this severe injury to the accident, despite no treatment for a month.
