Premises Liability - Apartment Building Injury
WRSMH settled a case in the amount of $415,000 after mediation with the attorney's for a Bronx landlord of an apartment building where our client was injured. Our client, a 50 year old ambulette driver, was injured when assisting a paraplegic in a wheelchair up a flight of stairs in a non elevator building he lost his footing and fell with the paraplegic on top of him. The stairway was found to be out of code and the steps and risers were all of different heights and depths creating a dangerous condition. Our client suffered ligament tears to his knee and underwent knee surgery. He was determined to be partially permanently disabled by the Workers Compensation Board.
