Construction Accident - Trip and Fall
WRSMH attorney David M. Hoffman obtained a settlement in the amount of $3,000,000 for a 57-year-old man who was injured in an accident when he was caused to fall seven feet off a scaffold at a construction site. The incident occurred while the plaintiff was performing demolition work in a room of the building. Plaintiff, a construction worker in the course of his employment, was caused to sustain serious injuries when the unsteady Baker scaffold on which he was working moved and shook, causing the plaintiff to fall to the floor. The floor of the room was uneven, and no safety devices were present to prevent his fall. As a result of this incident, the plaintiff suffered a serious fracture and other injuries to his mid and lower back, which required urgent spinal surgery. David managed to successfully settle this matter prior to the holding of depositions.
