Douglas A. Milch, attorney at WRSMH, recently obtained a $2,500,000 settlement on behalf of a 59-year-old Queens County resident who injured his back in a 2015 accident when his vehicle was struck by a rental truck. While the defendant argued that our client caused the accident by “stopping short,” Douglas was able to secure the settlement by establishing that the force of impact indicated the truck was at fault and the force was sufficient to cause spine injuries requiring a cervical discectomy and subsequent lumbar fusion. Douglas was also able to establish that the defendant truck driver’s actions in following too closely were the cause of the accident by use of photographs of the vehicular damage taken at the accident scene. Proving once again, that a picture is worth “a thousand words.”
