Motor Vehicle Accident
Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP obtained a jury verdict in the amount of $600,000 for a 33-year-old vehicle driver who was struck in the rear while stopped at a red traffic light. As a result of the accident, our client was required to undergo physical therapy, pain management injections, and ultimately arthroscopic surgery to repair torn ligaments in his shoulder. The firm presented evidence at trial demonstrating the plaintiff’s injuries were caused by the accident and were permanent in nature. The firm was successful in refuting the defendant’s claims that the ligament tears did not exist and that the plaintiff had a preexisting, degenerative condition. The jury awarded the verdict in the plaintiff’s favor following approximately two hours of deliberation.
