Pedestrian Injury - Brain Injury
WRSMH attorney Noah Katz represented an 18-year-old man who was struck while walking in a crosswalk by a vehicle making a left turn. As a result of the impact, our client sustained head and brain injuries requiring surgery. During the course of the case, the defendant contended that the impact was our client’s fault because he allegedly darted out and into the roadway. Noah was able to prove through witness testimony that the impact occurred as our client had a "walk" signal in his favor; was within the crosswalk; and had already crossed half the distance of the roadway. Based on the evidence, Noah successfully settled the case before trial for $1,300,000 - the entirety of the defendant’s insurance policy.
