Motor Vehicle Accident - $175,000 Recovery
WRSMH obtained a settlement of $175,000 on behalf of a 45 year old husband and his wife from Queens. The husband was driving a vehicle in Ozone Park Queens on his way to work when the defendant driver, who was operating a vehicle loaned to him by an automobile car dealership, made a left turn in front of him, causing the collision. As a result of the car accident, our client suffered significant injuries to his left knee and left shoulder, both of which required surgical intervention and physical therapy. His wife suffered the loss of her husband's services and society. Our office brought a lawsuit against the offending driver as well as the automobile car dealership that loaned him the vehicle he was operating at the time of the accident. The defendants claimed the injuries were not caused by this accident and were degenerative in nature. Just prior to the trial of this matter, we were able to get the insurance company for the defendant driver to tender their full liability policy limit. The case then proceeded to trial. The firm was able to negotiate a total settlement in the amount of $175,000 just prior to jury selection for our clients' past and future pain and suffering and lost earnings.
