Motor Vehicle Accident
WRSMH Of Counsel Brielle Goldfaden obtained a recovery for a client who was driving a van while working for a cable company. As he proceeded straight on Ninth Avenue in upper Manhattan, a New York City Sanitation truck traveling in the opposite direction suddenly turned left, crossed over into the plaintiff’s lane of travel, and crashed into the front of his van. His airbags deployed and his small finger was broken. The impact also caused his knee to hit the dashboard. As a result of the crash, our client had to undergo pin placement in his small finger to stabilize the fracture, which was later surgically removed along with scar tissue. His finger was permanently bent and deformed. Our client also suffered a torn meniscus in his knee from the trauma of the accident and underwent a knee surgery to repair the tear. Brielle prepared the case for trial, and a few days before jury selection, we were able to settle the case with the City of New York for $375,000.
