Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP recently obtained a $2.2 million settlement for a medical malpractice wrongful death case involving a married 52-year-old man who died during hospitalization after undergoing elective valve replacement surgery. There was a failure to investigate hypotension after a chest tube was removed. This resulted in a delay in diagnosing and treating a hemothorax and hypovolemia, which ultimately resulted in his death days later.
