Fall Due an Improperly Designed and Constructed Stairway

Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP obtained a settlement in the amount of $225,000 on behalf of our client, a thirty year old woman from Kings County. The woman was walking down the front, exterior stairway of a condominium building when she was caused to fall due an improperly designed and constructed stairway.

Through our investigation, we were able to prove that the building owner had prior notice of the fact that the stairway violated various provisions of the state and city building codes. As a result of the accident, our client suffered injuries to her ankle which required surgery. Shortly prior to the trial of this matter, the firm was able to settle the case for the amount of $225,000.
