Wingate Russotti Shapiro Moses & Halperin, LLP attorney Konstantin Burshteyn secured a $1,100,000 settlement for our client who was involved in an elevator accident. Our client was a passenger in an elevator, descending a five-story building in New York City, when the elevator struck a door lock in the elevator shaft which caused the elevator to abruptly stop. As a result of the Defendant’s negligence, our client reaggravated a prior neck injury and injured his knees. He was caused to have a cervical fusion and knee arthroscopy. Konstantin resolved this case on the eve of trial in Kings County, overcoming Defendant’s arguments that the minimal speed of the elevator could not have caused our clients injuries and that his neck complaints and surgical recommendation were pre-existing and caused by a prior work-related accident which caused our client to stop working.
