Department Store Slip and Fall - Premises Liability
At pretrial mediation, WRSMH attorney Victor Goldblum, obtained a settlement for our client, a 63 year old woman who slipped and fell as a result of stepping on a shoe box in a department store. As a result of the fall, our client suffered a shoulder tear and had shoulder replacement surgery. The defendant argued that the fall was not caused by negligence, but that the fall was due to physical issues caused by the plaintiff as a result of Parkinson’s disease. After a lengthy mediation, the case was settled for $700,000.00.
