Torn Meniscus

Plaintiff, 45 year-old laborer working at a construction site, was standing on a pallet of forms on the rear of a pick-up truck. As the driver drove away, plaintiff hit a counterweight of a crane, knocking him off the rear of the truck. We brought this action under the Labor Law of the State of New York. Plaintiff sustained an intertrochantic fracture of the left hip requiring open reduction and internal fixation as well as a torn meniscus of the left knee requiring arthroscopic surgery.
