Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP attorney Konstantin Burshteyn secured a $450,000 settlement for our client, a 62-year-old undocumented laborer from Ecuador who sustained a finger injury while working at a construction site in New York City. Our client was injured while he and a coworker were transporting a metal cart filled with debris down a ramp. When the coworker slipped and lost his grip, the cart forced our client to the bottom of the ramp and crushed his right hand into the exit door at the end of the ramp.
As a result of the incident, our client sustained a fracture to his pinky finger and subsequently required carpel tunnel release surgery. Following the surgery, he returned to full-time work.
Konstantin mediated the case after our client’s deposition and prior to the completion of discovery.
