Douglas A. Milch, attorney at Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP recently obtained a $1.2 million dollar settlement on behalf of a 51-year-old Bronx resident who suffered spinal injuries as a result of a three-car automobile accident. The settlement was notable because Douglas was able to establish that: (1) the client’s depiction of the incident was more reliable than the drivers of the other involved vehicles and (2) his injuries were a direct result of the accident’s impact even though the client had major invasive surgery a number of years after the collision. The client sustained a herniated lumbar disc which required a discectomy and a later decompression and fusion.
