Brick Layer Falls 15 Feet from Scaffold
Plaintiff was a 47 year-old brick layer at the time of the accident. He was employed by the lessee of a building undergoing renovation and was working on a scaffold next to the building's garage door. The defendant general contractor negligently drove a backhoe out of the building, striking the scaffold, causing plaintiff to fall approximately 15 feet.
We sued the property owner and general contractor under the New York State Labor Law. Our client sustained a closed head injury causing frontal lobe damage with personality changes, concentration difficulties and apathy, and fracture of the non-dominant shoulder with partial arthrodesis.
