Slip and Fall - Premises Liability

Our client, a 37 year old salesman, was injured when he slipped and fell in the apartment building where he lived. He was caused to slip and fall on a floor stripper when he walked out of the stairwell. As a result of the accident, he suffered an anterior shoulder dislocation which ultimately required surgery.

The defendants contended that they had taped off the stairway, locked the door and had posted signs warning that the floor was wet. Additionally, they claimed the plaintiff made a full recovery.

Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP took the case to trial. During the trial, the defendants had initially offered $40,000 to settle the case. After intense negotiations, the case settled for $150,000 before the jury reached a verdict.
