WRSMH joins lawyers across the country to assist victims of terrorist attacks

After the September 11th terrorist attacks, trial attorneys throughout the country have joined together to form Trial Lawyers Care, a national non-profit program that provides free legal services for victims who are eligible and choose to make claims for compensation under Congress’ newly created September 11th Victim Compensation Fund. The effort was organized by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

All of the attorneys at Wingate, Russotti, Shapiro, Moses & Halperin, LLP are working with Trial Lawyers Care and are representing numerous claimants and families who have lost loved ones as a result of the terrorist attacks.

Trial Lawyers Care provides lawyers who are experienced with personal injury and death cases and who are knowledgeable about the Victim Compensation Fund, to help victims who seek compensation from the Fund free of charge. The purpose of Trial Lawyers Care is to link qualified claimants with attorneys to obtain compensation from the Victim Compensation Fund.

Many claimants who are seeking compensation under the Victim Compensation Fund will attend a hearing before a Special Master. Our attorneys will present witnesses, experts, and other evidence to maximize each claimant’s recovery.

You should be aware that if you have been injured or lost a loved one as a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks, you must file a claim no later than December 20, 2003 or you will be barred from making a claim under the Victim Compensation Fund.
