WRSMH attorney Michael Fitzpatrick obtained a $2,750,000 settlement for a 62-year-old woman who was partially paralyzed on her right side. She was injured when she fell down a staircase at a retail store in the Bronx, fracturing her hip and resulting in two surgeries.
The plaintiff claimed she lost her footing and was unable to grab the handrail with her left hand because it was covered with overhanging merchandise. The accident was captured on store video.
The matter was settled at a court mediation after the Note of Issue was filed, signifying that the case was ready for trial.
