Driver Injured by Tractor Trailer Making an Illegal Turn at the Intersection

WRSMH was able to obtain a settlement of $250,000 on behalf of a 45 year old out reach worker from the Bronx. The man was driving a vehicle in lower Manhattan during the course of his employment when an electrician's van that was stopped at a red light in front of him reversed into him in an attempt to avoid an accident with a large tractor trailer which made a sudden and illegal turn at the intersection and then left the scene of the accident. As a result of the car accident, our client suffered a significant injury to his lumbar spine which required a lengthy course of physical therapy and pain management treatments.

The defendant in the case claimed that the accident was entirely the fault of the tractor trailer and that the defendant's action in reversing into our client were entirely reasonable given the emergency nature of the circumstances.

The case then proceeded to trial. The firm was able to negotiate a settlement in the amount of $250,000 just prior to trial for our client's past and future pain and suffering.
