Douglas A. Milch, of Counsel for WRSMH, recently obtained a $600,000.00 settlement for a 61-year-old Bronx resident who slipped on a wet interior stair in his apartment building, suffering back injuries. The settlement is notable since Douglas was able to reach an early resolution before the depositions were held and by establishing that there was a strong likelihood that a jury would find the landlord negligent if he was able to establish that the water was present on the stairs due to rain from an open window in the stairway and that this window condition may have been present for a significant amount of time prior to the client’s accident.
