$200,000 recovery obtained for 70 year old tourist struck by yellow taxi cab

WRSMH was able to obtain a settlement of $200,000 on behalf of a 70 year old hearing impaired tourist from Hawaii. The woman was walking across an intersection in Times Square when her foot was run over by a yellow taxi cab, knocking her to the ground, causing her to sustain very serious injuries to her foot and hip.

Our office brought an action against the owner and operator of the yellow taxi cab. The defendants, by their attorneys, contended that it was our client who walked out into traffic against a pedestrian signal, causing her own accident, relying in part on the statements of various eyewitnesses.

The case then proceeded to trial. The firm was able to negotiate a settlement in the amount of $200,000 for our client's past and future pain and suffering, which represented the entirety of the available liability insurance coverage amounts for the claim.
