Fractured Ankle from Trip and Fall Onto Balcony

WRSMH attorney Cliff Shapiro obtained a settlement of $375,000 on behalf of a 40-year-old woman who tripped and fell in an apartment as she was going from the apartment to the outside balcony area. She stepped over the threshold with her right foot first and the threshold was higher than the apartment floor, which caused her to trip and fall out onto the balcony.

It was contended by the defendants that the plaintiff caused the accident by wearing high heels and that she had several drinks prior to the accident.

As a result of the accident, the client sustained a fractured ankle which required open reduction and internal fixation.
